The Power of Make Up

A few days ago, saya sempet baca artikel tentang hashtag #ThePowerofMakeUp that went viral in the internet. So basically, this hashtag was initiated by a video from a beauty vlogger, NikkieTutorial, about make up shaming. As what she said, lately there has been a tendency that people are shaming female for using make up. Lots of people say that females are wearing make up only to get attention from boys, or because they feel insecure. People say that girls wear make up because they don’t love themselves as they are, and thus, faking themselves by wearing make up.
Let me tell you something.
No. It’s not.
We wear make up not for someone else. We wear it for ourselves. To make us feel good. What’s wrong with that?
Me personally, I wear it because yeah, it does boost my confidence. I feel even better in the inside if I know that I look also good on the outside.

But if I have to be honest, saya baru pake make up setahunan ini kali ya. MHUAHAHAHAHA…
Lupa juga awalnya gimana.
Dulu sebelumnya, paling pol cuma bedakan doang, pake lipstick dikit sama maskara doang. Ya iya lah, secara saya dulu kan naik angkot ke kantor yang perlu waktu 1,5 jam, kalo ngajar kadang-kadang AC-nya nggak nyala, lah saya ngerasanya belum apa-apa ya udah keringetan nggak jelas aja.
Haha.
Apalagi waktu kuliah. Mana sempet kepikir buat make-up segalaaaaa….
Tapi semejak disini, it turns out to be very different. Yang tadinya gak bisa pake eye-liner, sekarang saya punya eyeliner sampe 6 biji ada kali. Mulai dari yang pensil, liquid, sampe yang gel. Blush on. Bronzer. Eye shadow. Jauh banget lah dibanding jaman masih cupu dulu.

Ini cuma yang saya pake untuk bikin foto di atas. Aslinya punya saya lebih banyak lagi (betewe, setting spray yang NYX itu favorit saya banget. Highly recommended lah)

And I really spare at least an additional 30 minutes of my morning to do my make up before I go out. And I enjoy it. It’s really an experience, seeing how myself going fro 3 to 9 in front of the mirror.

In my bad days, it makes me feel somehow better to know that even though I am having a bad mood, at least my eyeliner is on point.
Tapi bener deh, beauty comes from the inside. Saya ngerasanya, kalo memang saya lagi seneng, for any reason, my make up goes even smoother. I guess because happiness does make your eyes glow and radiates positive energy :).
