30 Day Challenge | Day 7

Day 7: Do you read? What are your favorite books?

Actually, to say that I read, or I occasionally read, or I sometimes read, is quite an understatement.

I LOVE to read.

Saya termasuk beruntung karena dibesarkan di keluarga yang suka membaca. Jadi ya, semenjak kecil saya memang sudah terbiasa membaca. There are some books that I grew up with, stories that I will always remember. And even until now, I still love reading. It’s my way to keep my sanity. 

Kalo genre favorit, seperti yang sudah pernah saya bilang sebelumnya, my favorite genre would be fantasy!

Dari dulu memang suka yang berbau fantasi gitu. Apalagi sejak kecil saya suka sama mitologi Yunani (there was a time when I was able to memorize all the name of God and Goddeses and all the creatures and heroes and how they realted to each other). No wonder, serial Percy Jackson berikut sekuelnya, Heroes of Olympus, itu bener-bener jadi favorit saya. And of course, I can’t help but wishing that I were demigod, or a wizard (I just so know it that the sorting hat would put me in Ravenclaw), or I can summon Bartimaeus.

well, not actually true for the last one... but still, the first up to the third one is my dreams.

Dulu sampai kuliah S1 juga masih suka baca komik Jepang. Tapi sekarang udah males, kayaknya komik Jepang sekarang terlalu gimanaaa gitu. Padahal dulu mah ngikutin Pop Corn, Topeng Kaca, Mari Chan, SOS, Time Limit, Min Min, Miss Modern… AAAAA… Komik dulu mah bagus-baguuuusss T_T.

Lately, kayaknya reading speed saya turun dengan menyedihkan. Jadilah buku yang sudah saya beli tapi belum sempet kebaca masih bertumpuk aja.

Sebetulnya nih, salah satu cita-cita saya yang belum kesampaian, pengen punya kamar yang sepanjang sisinya isinya rak buku. In fact, I do desperately need bookshelves. Sebagian besar buku saya aja gak ditaruh di kamar, tapi di lemari di gudang belakang =(.

Anyway, soal membaca ini, I just found a very nice quotation about reading and writing that I read from here =D.

 "I am a reader. I am a writer. People assume I do these things to escape. You couldn’t be more right. I’m escaping a world I don’t like. A world I have no control in. In this world, I am nothing.
